How To FTP

For files that are too large for emailing, we recommend sending them to us using File Transfer Protocol (FTP). To use FTP, you'll need FTP software. For Macintosh users, an FTP program known as Fetch should be used. You can download a copy ($25.00) from their website at www.fetchsoftworks.com. PC users can use ACE FTP, a free FTP client that can be downloaded here. Once you have downloaded and installed your FTP software, you are ready to begin sending files.

Instructions for Mac Users using Fetch:
Once you open Fetch, a New Connection window will open. This window will contain three blank fields: Host, User ID and Password. To send files to Fort Nassau Graphics, in the Host field, type in the Fort Nassau Server Address: ftp://ftp.fortnassaugraphics.com
In the User ID field, type: anonymous
Leave the Password field blank and click the OK button. A window displaying Fort Nassau's FTP's site will open. Double click on the incoming folder. This is where your files should be placed. Click on the Remote menu and select Put Folders and Files.

Another window will open displaying two panes. The top pane displays folders and files on your local computer. Select a file or folder and click the Add button and your selection will be placed into the lower pane. Click Done and your files will begin to upload.

FTP Instructions for PC Users:
Although these instructions demonstrate using Ace FTP, the procedure is similar to other popular PC FTP programs such as WS FTP and others. After opening Ace FTP, click on the Connect button (Ctrl+W). A new window will open for your FTP connections. Click on the Connections menu and select New Site Profile. The New Site Profile Wizard will open with 4 blank fields. In the top field, you can give your connection a name. In the Server field, type in the Fort Nassau Server Address: ftp://ftp.fortnassaugraphics.com
In the User ID field, type: anonymous
Leave the Password field blank and click the next button.
The next panel lets you browse for a folder from which you will upload files. By clicking on the folder icon, you can navigate to the folder on your computer from which files will be sent to Fort Nassau's FTP site. Once you've selected a folder, click OK and then click Finish. Now your connection has been made.
To upload files, double click on the incoming folder in the right pane then select a file or folder on your computer in the left pane and click the blue button pointing towards the left. This will upload your files to the Fort Nassau FTP site (Right Pane).
